     Camera Boats

We have a large selection of boats which can be used as camera platforms depending on your requirements. Below are some examples of the boats which are used as camera boats. Whilst Korat is our specialist camera catamaran we have a variety of boats which may be more appropriate depending on your location and requirements. For help and advice with regards to your requirements please contact  our expert hire team.
Korat
Korat is our specialist camera boat (10m  long) , with a large stable filming platform, it is very fast and stable and can be loaded with up to ½ a ton of  Crane camera equipment subject to  numbers in the camera crew on the boat. Korat is ideal when you require maximum  space and stability.  We can trail her anywhere but she needs a fairly substantial slipway for launching and recovery.
Felix
Felix  (6m long) is one of our high speed ribs, capable of 38+ knots and able to handle very rough water it is equipped with a 90hp engine and is excellent where high speed or rough water conditions are likely. The large inflatable buoyancy tubes mean that it has a relatively large load capacity (7 persons) and could also be used as a film support vessel. It has been used for example as a camera boat when the whale was stranded in the Thames.
Ocecat
Ocecat  (5.3m long) is an example of one of our aluminium landing craft. These are extremely versatile boats.  They can be rigged with up to 40hp petrol engines but also with electric outboards for silent running, they can also have the engines side mounted to be used for tracking shots. This boat can be easily towed to any uk location with some form of slipway.  This is also a very effective cheap and simple ferry.
Aquarius
Aquarius (10.1m long) is one of our classic river launches. It is also excellent for use as a camera boat because of it’s large open plan work area which is low to the water, the boat is also extremely fast with very low wash. This boat can take up to 4 persons plus camera equipment and is based from Putney.
Panache
Panache (13.7m long)  is another of our classic river launches. It is also excellent for use as a camera boat because of its larger, longer open plan  work area allowing plenty of space for cameras and equipment Panache is capable of relatively fast speeds with  low wash. This boat can take up to 12 persons plus camera equipment. She has recently been used with a 360° camera.  She is based at Putney.
Chasnee
Chasnee (8.5m long)  is an ex-police boat and is another excellent camera platform, with its large open aft deck creating plenty of space. It also has a cabin for dry storage of equipment. This boat is regularly used for filming in rougher conditions on the downstream reaches of the tidal Thames. She too is based at Putney.
