Coming up on the River Thames this year!

Well 2012 is now well and truly here, and 2011 almost in the distant past.

New Years Day 2012 certainly came in with a loud bang throughout the Country with the fireworks in London being a fantastic focal point. But the events just aren't letting up!!

2012 is sure to be one of the busiest years on the River for many years starting with the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race (held over the Championship course between Putney and Mortlake) in April, followed by the Queens Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the River Thames on the 3rd June 2012, before we start the Largest Rowing Regatta of the Year with Henley Royal Regatta in the last week of June.

But it doesn't stop there . . .

With London being the Olympic Venue for 2012 there is sure to be a large amount of tourism to the country and what better way of seeing this wonderful city than on a Luxury Vessel touring the grand River Thames.

Not only do we have all these events we certainly wont be missing out on some of the more traditional events this year with the little known but certainly unmissable Barge Races, with Waterman and Lighterman rowing barges all the way from Greenwich to Westminster, Doggets Coat and Badge Race (Wager) with the winner becoming a Queens Waterman, all this along with the Thames Festival in the Autumn is certain to make 2012 a memorable year.

And before we know it we are back on the River - Centre Stage once again - as London, the UK and the rest of the World prepare to welcome 2013 in style with prehaps an even bigger celebration than this year (if thats even possible)
